Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 August 2026
Oakmind is an independent app studio based in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what our website and our apps collect, why, and what control you have over it. It covers the website at oakmind.co.uk (including its subdomains) and every Oakmind app, unless an app links to its own more specific policy.
Who is responsible
Oakmind operates this website and publishes the apps it covers. For any privacy question or request, contact [email protected].
What is collected
This website
The website is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising trackers, requires no account, and makes no requests to third-party services from your browser. Our hosting provider records standard server logs — IP address, browser type and the time of each request — which are used to keep the site running and secure, and are not used to build a profile of you.
Your activity in our apps
Apps that test or quiz you record your answers, the time taken on each item, and the resulting score. This is what produces your result.
Information you may be asked to provide
Some apps ask for a small amount of information before showing your result, used to place it against the right comparison group:
- Country or region — chosen from a list. This is not GPS and we do not detect your location automatically.
- Age group — a band, not a date of birth.
- Occupation or field of work — chosen from a list.
Where extras are offered, they are optional and can be left blank:
- A display nickname — free text; we do not ask for your real name.
- Gender — with a skip button, used only for comparison norms.
- Ethnicity — an optional dropdown used only for comparison norms.
No account is created, no email address is requested, and no device identifier is attached to any of this. We cannot tell who you are from what is submitted.
What we do not collect
- We do not require accounts, and we do not ask for your email address
- We do not collect precise GPS location — country or region only, and only if you provide it
- We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share your data with data brokers or advertisers
How it is used
Your answers are used to calculate and display your result. The optional details above are used in aggregate to improve scoring — for example, to build more accurate comparison norms across age groups, genders, regions and occupations. Aggregate means combined with many other people's results; individual responses are not published, and anything shown to other users is a group average only.
Third parties
We keep third parties to the minimum needed to run the service:
- Hosting — this website is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard request logs (such as IP address) to deliver and secure the site.
- Payments — where an app or site offers an optional purchase, payment is handled entirely by the payment provider named at checkout, under its own privacy policy. We never receive or store your card details. Unless an app says otherwise, our apps are free and contain no purchases.
- No one else — no analytics services, no advertising networks, no data brokers. We do not sell personal data.
Legal basis (UK and EU users)
We rely on your consent, which you give by submitting a form and continuing to your result. Ethnicity, where an app offers it and you choose to provide it, is special category data under UK GDPR and is collected only with your explicit consent — leaving it blank has no effect on your result. We rely on legitimate interests for the server logs needed to operate and secure our services. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
Data retention
Results and any optional details you provide are kept for as long as they remain useful for scoring accuracy. Server logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider and then discarded.
Children
Our apps are suitable for general audiences but are not directed at young children. We ask that anyone under 13 uses them with a parent or guardian. If you are a parent or guardian and would like a submission removed, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
If you are in the UK or EU you have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to object to or restrict how it is used. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. Because our apps do not require an account, please include enough detail for us to locate your submission.
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted in the affected app.
Short version: use the app, get your result. Some apps ask for your country, age group and occupation so we can compare you against the right group. It is anonymous, it goes into group averages to make scoring fairer, and it is never sold.
